The Bouzereau family are stalwarts of the village of Meursault and their wines among the most admired. Under Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau they've achieved a good balance between traditional and modern practices to the undoubted benefit of their output. This Premier Cru comes from vineyards near the neighbouring hamlet of Blagny and is quite powerfully rich and complex. After plenty of time in barrel before bottling the ripe fruits flavours have a creaminess that gives a touch of butterscotch and toasty oakiness. Everything is kept is good balance with a mineral crispness that leads to a clean lingering finish.
When to drink:
Good drinking from now and well into the 2020s, creamy game, pork or meat fish dishes are the order of the day here when it comes to food matching.
