In a nutshell: Hoppy and bitter German Pilsener from the Jever Brewery near the North Sea coast.
The lowdown: This clear blonde coloured pilsener has sweet, grassy and herby aromas, with a touch of citrus while the taste is a wonderful blend of herby, dry hop, and more citrus. The finish is long, crisp and clean with a slight resinous note. An ever popular beer on our shelves.
The reputation of Jever was built on one beer - their Pilsener. Said to represent the extremely dry, light style of beer from the wider region of Friesland the brewery is named after its city of origin. The two world wars almost saw the termination of the brewery through shortage of raw materials. Restricted to selling solely from the brewery gates after the second world war, the reputation of this classic north German style of beer quickly re-established the brewery.
