In a nutshell:
A rare single cask, independent bottling of an aged single grain whisky. The lowdown:
Distilled 1993, the year the distillery closed, this single grain whisky was matured for 24 years a a sherry cask (cask number 48093) for 24 years before being bottled in 2018. Only 465 bottles have been released so there's not much of it around. It has a rich honeyed aroma with notes of charred oak and coconut. On the palate the tannins give a warming smoothness and it finishes long and sweet with a very slight smoky hint.
James Eadie Ltd
is an independent blender and bottler of Scotch Whisky. Independent bottlings are a feature of the industry and it provides an interesting niche market where expressions from well known distilleries can be seen in an intriguingly new light.
