Tinedo is the Alvarez-Arenas' family estate and is situated near to the village of Les Mesas in the central Spanish province of Castilla-La Mancha, the hot and arid centre of the country. They've been been producing wines here in a traditional sine the 18th century. The estate comprises 49 hectares of vineyards in the heart of La Mancha. The existing winery being established during the 19th century by the great grandmother of the current owners.
Since 2002 Manuel, Esperanza and Amparo Álvarez-Arenas, the latest generation, have overseen the renovation of the vineyard and the winemaking concepts behind Tinedo's wines. Looking for the full expression of the oenological potential of the terroir they've reinforced social and environmental concerns, encouraging the sustainability as a model of agricultural, rural, and social development. All of the grapes grown on their vineyards are organically cultivated.
