Description
In a nutshell:
A seasonal English Bitter with a biscuity palate and a hint of grassy freshness, like a proper British bitter went for a walk in the countryside.
The lowdown:
Brewed but once a year in celebration of the hop harvest. It leans into tradition, showcasing English hops with a gentle hand. Expect gentle, biscuity malt flavours that support a touch of citrus, a hint of spice, and an earthy, grassy note from those fresh 'green' hops. It's a proper Sussex pint, this is, reliable and unfussy the sort of beer that tastes right after a good walk along the Downs, naturally.
The Brewery
Harvey's are a cherished part of Britain's brewing history and one a select group of regional breweries that haven't been incorporated into a multinational brewcorp. Their home has always been Lewes in East Sussex where their riverside brewery is one the architectural landmarks of the town. They've been there since the 1800s. At a time when cutting edge craft breweries dominate the beer scene Harvey's hark back to an earlier era. They're a traditional English brewery occupying a niche in the market that's a part of our heritage. And by no means least, their beers have an enduring popularity and quality to which anybody who's a devotee of their flagship Sussex Best will attest.
Style - IPA ABV 5.0% - Moderate Strength
