DESCRIPTION
A well structured, spicy and polished Crusted Port from a renowned shipper.
The lowdown:
Crusted Port is a relatively rarely seen style. They are aged in wooden vats for a few years before being bottled unfiltered and then allowed to age further in bottle. They have a sediment, or crust, which means they'll need decanting before serving.
Here a selection of fine young ports are blended together and then aged for two years in oak barrels, then bottled and aged for a minimum of 3 years in Graham's cellars. The year shown on the label is that when it was bottled. As a result the possess many of the qualities of a vintage port.
When to drink:
A very affordable style of bottle matured port. Perfect for immediate drinking, but if left for a few years further it'll still keep improving.
Suitable for Vegans
PRODUCER
Graham's

Established in 1820 in Oporto, W & J Graham is one of the most famous names in the Port trade and has long been synonymous with the greatest Vintage Ports.
The Symington family acquired the company from the Graham family in 1970, so today Graham's remains a wholly family-owned firm. At the heart of Graham's Port is the famous Quinta dos Malvedos in the upper reaches of the Douro Valley. The old winery was completely renovated in 2000 and is now equipped with three revolutionary robotic lagares that 'tread' the grapes. Alongside these are the ancient granite lagares where some of the harvest is still trodden by human foot. The neighbouring Quinta do Tua and Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto valley are key vineyards for Graham's, as are the privately family-owned Quintas of Vila Velha and Vale de Malhadas.
