In a nutshell:
A rich, textured and elegant Southern Rhône red that's just hitting peak performance.
Under the ownership of the Famille Perrin, the wines of this Gigondas estate are well worth seeking out. The 2012, of which there isnt very much left, was an excellent year and is now in the prime of its drinking period. It's made mostly from Grenache with a small amount (less than 10%) Syrah it has an impressive array of cassis, liquorice and dried herb aromas. It's fairly full bodied with a good minerality and excellent tannic stucture which keeps the rich, concentrated flavours in very good balance and leads to a dry and refined finish.
When to drink:
A very suave, sophisticated and rewarding Rhône red.
