DESCRIPTION
A deep and intense classic Gigondas from the southern Rhône.
Grenache is the main component in this blend with Mourvèdre and Syrah making up about 15% each. About half the blend is matured for just over a year in oak barrels which adds an extra dimension and complexity. It's full bodied with rich and smooth flavours and intense touches of black cherries, dark chocolate, smoke, clove, nutmeg with hints of vanilla from the oak. It's rich and enveloping but with a real elegance all the way through.
A glorious example of Gigondas, it's ideal with things like game dishes on the one hand, or mature farmhouse cheddar on the other.
