The lowdown:
Youthful and upfront is a good way to describe this. It's got a touch of purple in the glass and spirited aromas of blackcurrant blackberry hitting your nose telling you this is full of ripe fruit. On the tongue it's juicy and mouth filling and really satisfying. And the lengthy sign off with its gentle tannins add a welcome touch of class. While originating in the Rhône valley, Syrah has made itself really at home in these parts as well and this glorious glugger amply demonstrates.
The Producer:
This is made by the Producteurs Reunis Cebazan, one of the forward-looking Languedoc co-operatives who do so much to make this region a reliable source of good quality wines that provide a lot of bang for their buck. They're based near Beziers in the heart of the the region's vineyard area.
When to drink:
While this is made to go with burgers and barbies, pasta and pizza it's actually one of those juicy reds that you can easily drink just by itself.
