The lowdown:
This fantastic smooth and highly enjoyable white comes from Chivite's historic Legardata estate just south west of Pamplona in Navarra. Made in conjunction with old friends the renowned Arzak restaurateur family, this is a true gastronomic wine. The Chivite's are not only one of Spain's oldest winemaking families but are also experts in the art of making rosé and the processes involved have led them to this wine where red Grenache is vinified to make a white wine, with then an addition of barrel fermented white Grenache to make a rather unique dos Garnachas blend! Lovely aromas of bright red berry fruits, ripe white stone fruit, citrus and floral notes lead onto a medium-bodied, soft and rounded palate with great texture and weight, real complexity and a long and clean, fresh finish.
When to drink:
A versatile food wine. Try with white meat dishes, river fish, salmon, roasted vegetables.
