In a nutshell:
An impressive magnum of Chimay's powerful, full and complex Belgian beer, one of the country's most famous Trappist breweries.
The strongest of their range of Trappist beers it certainly has something of a Port like character about it. The Port like flavours develop if the beer is laid down for five years or more. This aromatic, lively, rich ale has a medium sweet middle, with gently drier suggestions of thyme, pepper, sandalwood and nutmeg on the finish.
Known as Grande Reserve in magnums, it's the same as Blue Cap in smaller bottles.
