DESCRIPTION
A rich, long and balanced white from the Costieres de Nimes in the southern Rhône.
The lowdown:
70% Rousanne and 30% Viognier go into the blend. The Rousanne forms the backbone of mineral complexity with a fresh grapefruit, citrus feel, whilst the Viognier adds a layer of peachy and apricot richness and some hints of exotic spice.
When to drink:
A well rounded wine that would go nicely with most fish, or grilled chicken, or just on its own as an aperitif.
Suitable for Vegans
PRODUCER
Chateau L'Ermitage

Vines have been grown around Château l'Ermitage in Saint-Gilles just outside the Camargue for several centuries with records of l'Ermitage of Costieres producing wine for pilgrims en route to Santiago de Compostella as far back as the twelfth century.
Currently the vineyards extend to 80 hectares on southern Rhône sandstone soils. Being south facing, overlooking the Camargue, in summer Mediterranean sea breezes help keep temperatures in check preserving the freshness and aromatics of the grapes.
Jérôme Castillon, is from the current generation running the estate and his efforts have very much helped in raising the reputation of wines from the Costieres de Nimes and surroundings to where they are today.
