A very promising, concentrated and rich, Margaux.
2012 was, as is sometimes euphemistically stated, a challenging vintage in Bordeaux. Nevertheless there are many good wines appearing from it, of which we think this is one, and at good value prices. The aromas are of black cherries and blackcurrants with a hint of dry spice and vanilla whilst on the palate the smooth body reveals a rich depth of fruit and silky tannins which squares off well against the well judged acidity. It finishes nice and long with a hint of roasted oak.
It has matured well and is just ready to drink now but will also last well into the late 2020s.
