The lowdown:
Chambord is made with blackberries, raspberries, Madgascan vanilla and Moroccan citrus peel which is steeped in cognac and sweetened with honey. With all these components it's got several layers of flavour but, happily, is not cloyingly sweet. It's used in all sorts of cocktails or, more simply a teaspoon or two added to a glass of fizz is great fun.

Originally inspired by a drink made at the Loire Valley's Château de Chambord for King Louis XIV when he visited in the seventeenth century this liqueur was first introduced back in 1982 and is still made in this part of France.
