Cardhu 12 Year Old Speyside Single Malt

One of the oldest Speyside distilleries near Archiestown, their operations (at the time illicit) date as far back as 1811.

Through the 19th century Cardu became a favourite of blenders and in 1893 was sold to one of its longstanding customers John Walker & Sons. Indeed, over time Cardhu became known as the highland base for Johnnie Walker.

Under the auspices of it parent company (now known as Diageo) it first ventured into the modern age of single malts in the 1980's. Today that tradition continues; while Cardhu remains an important constiuent of many Johnnie Walker blends the single malt bottlings are becoming increasingly important.
