In a nutshell: A crisp and refreshing, unfiltered, Czech-style pale lager from By The Horns Brewing of Summerstown, South London.
The lowdown: A flavourful lager with subtle bready malt with light and refreshing hop notes in the foreground. Brewed with a clean profile yet with underlying bready malt notes from British Extra Pale malt, then with a hop blend of classic Czech Saaz and US Centennial hops popping in the foreground. Unfiltered & unpasteurised keeps this beer full in flavour, and at only 4.0% abv this little number really packs a punch.
Kicking off in Wandsworth, South London, By the Horns was started by a couple of friends and craft beer enthusiasts who decided they had what it takes to graduate from home brew and make their beers on a proper commercial basis.
At their current premises in nearby Summerstown they have a tap room on site which is a great place to get a feel for their range of regular brews, and revolving array specials and limited editions.
