A superb, elegant Bourgogne Pinot Noir from one of Rully's top producers.
Known for his quality throughout Burgundy Vincent Dureuil-Janthiel is one of only a very few producers in the Cote Chalonnaise village of Rully to pick entirely by hand. The grapes for this Bourgogne Rouge are sorted twice, by hand as well, before fermentation and then aged for 12 months in deep, cool cellars in a mix of old and new oak barrels. There is incredible attention to detail in both the vineyard and the winery and this comes through in the glass. Perfumed aromas of fresh raspberry, redcurrant, plum and spices that follow through on to the elegant, medium-bodied palate. Excellent, fresh, balanced acidity with light, smooth tanins and a very long length.
This is a really good Burgundy Pinot Noir and is considerably better than many village labelled wines that we have tried. Is drinking well now but will develop over the next few years.Organic
