In a nutshell:
An introduction to the fabulous wines and regions of Austria. The lowdown:
An introduction to the fabulous wines and regions of Austria. Since the times of the Roman Empire Austria has produced some on the best wines in Europe, but you don't see much over here in the UK other than perhaps the odd bottle of Gruner Veltliner. As pretty much the national white grape of Austria Gruner has lots to offer and is a great alternative to other crisp whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, or even Gavi. There are a plethora of other variatals grown in Austria as well and here we've put together a 3 bottle mixed case of some of our favourites.
From the premium wine region of Kamptal we have a Riesling from top producer Brundlmayer and a crisp and fresh Gruner Veltliner from Rabl. From Vienna, the only major capital city with a wine region within the city boundaries, a classic Gemischter Satz, and from Burgenland in the far east of Austria a biodymanic fresh and fruity Blaufrankisch.
Enjoy and discover with our Austria Snapshot Case.
